Interact Club at Delone Catholic

Open to all students in grades 9-12, the Delone Catholic High School Interact Club is a member organization of Rotary Club of Hanover, Pennsylvania, District 7390, Club 5342 and by Rotary design is nonpolitical, nonreligious and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. The Interact Club’s mission is to extend to high school students opportunities to participate in service projects to enhance the lives of those in the community and thus their own lives. The Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” is seen to enhance the school’s motto of “Be Doers of the Word." Annual projects include, but are not limited to: Adopt-a-Highway, Sleep Out for the Homeless (benefit Hanover Area Council of Churches Homeless Shelter), Pit Beef Sandwich Sale (benefit Hanover Area Council of Churches Provide-a-Lunch Program), AARP Christmas luncheon, Toys for Tots and African Dinner.

  • Babysitting Opportunity

    Mrs. Kelly Rebert, a member of Hanover Rotary is looking for a babysitter for her two pre-teen boys (the youngest attends St. Teresa) this summer.  Her previous babysitters where Delone Interact members who have since gone off to college.

    She needs someone who has a drivers license to drive them to various activities, hang out at the pool and/or just keep them company for a few hours a day.  Looking for about 4-5  hours each day M-F.  This is a paid position.

  • Interact Club Donation

    The Interact Club of Delone Catholic raised $1000.00 at its recent Pit Beef/Pork/Turkey Sandwich Sale for the Provide-a-Lunch Program of the Hanover Area Council of Churches.  Co-Chairs Emily Miller and Clayton Hillson, Club President, Maria Cushing-Daniels, and moderator, Pat Marrocco presented the check to Carol Hinkle, representative of the council.  This fundraiser began 6 years ago and was the "brainchild" of a former Interact member and Delone alumni, Matthew Noel.

  • Toys for Tots

    The annual collection ends this Friday, Dec. 14.  Please remember to bring in a donation of a new, unwrapped toy.  Place your donation in the box outside of Mrs. Marrocco's room and check your name on the list. This counts as one of your required activities.

  • Adopt a Highway cancelled

    Due to rain, the Adopt a Highway cleanup for October 13 is cancelled. A new date will be selected and announced in the near future.

  • Adopt-a-Highway

    The cleanup that was postponed in September has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 13 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

    Permission slips can be picked up in room 122 and must be signed and returned by Wednesday, Oct. 10.

  • The first meeting of the Interact Club will be held on Wednesday, September 5 in the library at 3 p.m.

    This will be an introductory meeting at which details about the club will be shared and there will be time for questions from perspective members.  If you decide to join the club, you can then complete a membership form and return it with the fee on or before Sept. 30.

    The code for the 2018-19 school year is  PKJHCZ.  Using the join code will give you access to the echalk page .  In addition to joining the echalk page, the attached membership form MUST be completed and returned with this year's fee, even if you have previously belonged to Interact.   All forms with fee are due by September 30.  No new members accepted after that date.

  • Volunteers Needed at July 4th races in Hanover

    Community Works of Mercy can be earned by helping out with the July 4th festivities sponsored by Hanover Borough.  Help is needed on the course during the races.  If you can help or need more information, contact Ben Hutton, or Mr. Steve Hutton (guidance) at  Tell them that you are an Interact member!

  • Adopt - a - Highway; September 30

    Meet in Delone student parking lot for 10 a.m. departure.  Students will return to parking lot by 12:30 p.m.  

    Long pants, long sleeve shirts, sturdy shoes recommended.  Safety vests and work gloves will be provided.
