Student Life at Delone Catholic

Student activities outside the classroom help the school to fulfill its mission to "challenge students spiritually, academically, physically, socially and aesthetically within the traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church." While many student activities are offered outside of the school day, Delone Catholic also offers bimonthly activities periods during the school day, so that students for whom transportation is an issue can participate in the extracurricular life of the school.

  • SportsLeader Virtue of the Week

Our virtue theme this week is that of being NOBLE - the strength to be a person of your word, that when you say yes or no or that you will do something mean it and you do it. People can count on your word without worry. This week, fulfill your promise to do something that maybe you may have forgotten about.

  • And so it begins...

With 2019 upon us, Beauty and the Beast season (henceforth to be known as B & B) is ready to begin! Our first rehearsal for the cast, pit, and crew will be Sunday, January 6. Crew members will be needed 1/6 from 4:00-6:30 p.m., along with all available parents, cast members, and pit members to clear the stage. Cast and pit members should then stay for rehearsal 6:30-9 p.m. Parents and crew members are welcome to leave at 6:30 or stay through rehearsal. Please enter via the faculty parking lot on Delone Avenue for all rehearsals.
All cast and pit members will need a pencil for every rehearsal. Water bottles and a sweatshirt/sweater are also recommended. Cast and pit members who received a folder and/or book should bring those to every rehearsal as well. All cast and pit members should plan to rehearse on Sundays 6:30-9. Selected cast and pit members will also be needed for rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-9. A detailed schedule will come out each week so that students are not sitting around at rehearsals where they are not needed.
Students failing 2 or more classes are NOT allowed to attend rehearsals or crew sessions. Repeated appearances on the failure list may result in your replacement. We need to be able to count on everyone. Please note that there is a Spring Musical Echalk page for news and schedules. The public page is
Tuesday 1/8 - All pit members will rehearse 6:30-9.
    6:30-9 - Belle; 6:30-8 - Maurice; 7:30-9 Gaston.
Thursday 1/10 - All pit members will rehearse 6:30-9
6:30-8 - Gaston, Le Fou, Silly Girls; 7:30-9 Lumiere, Chip, and Mrs. Potts.
Sunday 1/13 - No crew or parent volunteers needed.
    Full cast & pit 6:30-9.
Sunday 1/20 - Crew and parent helpers should meet at Delone at 1:00 PM to go to Pennsylvania Academy of Theatrical Arts by Brittany Stevens (henceforth to be known as PATABS) and load in Show Set / Tech. Crew and parents will work through the end of rehearsal. Cast and Pit are also encouraged to help with the load-in at 1:00. Pick-up trucks and parent drivers would be very helpful. Student & parent helpers should bring money for a local restaurant (or pack dinner.) Cast & pit will rehearse 6:30-9 after dinner break.
Sunday 3/17 - Immediately after the final performance, Sunday 3/17 around 4:30 p.m., all cast, crew, and pit members (along with all available parent volunteers) will be needed to strike the set/Tech and return equipment to PATABS. Pizza will be brought in for all students and adult helpers before we get down to work. Pickup trucks and parent drivers would be very helpful for returning equipment. Please don't schedule a cast party or family gatherings right after that final performance, as ALL students will need to help with the strike.
Mr. Doug's complete crew schedule is below.

  • Interact Club Donation

The Interact Club of Delone Catholic raised $1000.00 at its recent Pit Beef/Pork/Turkey Sandwich Sale for the Provide-a-Lunch Program of the Hanover Area Council of Churches.  Co-Chairs Emily Miller and Clayton Hillson, Club President, Maria Cushing-Daniels, and moderator, Pat Marrocco presented the check to Carol Hinkle, representative of the council.  This fundraiser began 6 years ago and was the "brainchild" of a former Interact member and Delone alumni, Matthew Noel.
