Welcome back to another edition of the E-Squire! We are back with a new edition of The E-Squire this month after the publication of The Squire magazine in April.
"You have a diploma, and you have a good day!" remarked Salutatorian Arielle Snyder '23, quoting "our wonderful cafeteria ladies" in her speech addressing the newly minted alumni of Delone Catholic. On May 19, 2023, 86 Delone Catholic graduates walked the stage to receive their diplomas at J.T. Flaherty Field, a ceremony that was historically held for the first time outside. Among other "firsts" held this spring, the Ladies' Spring Tea was held for the first time in four years; after a long hiatus due to Covid-19. To welcome graduates spanning from the 1940s-1990s back to our hallowed halls and then to see the newest graduates walk the stage the following month reminds us to thank Almighty God for the gift of Delone Catholic High School. The gift of our alumni, changing the world in any vocation to which they are called, would not be possible without the support of our Delone Catholic Family. We are truly honored and blessed to carry on this valued tradition. Please read on to learn more about what our School has been up to these last two months, and we ask you to keep all of our students, alumni, and friends in your prayers!

Little Squires: Take Me Out to the Ballgame
On April 19, our Little Squires Club members and their families came out to cheer on our varsity Squires baseball and Squirette softball teams against Littlestown. Before the game, Little Squires were able to stand with the players for the National Anthem. They enjoyed refreshments and games with our Squire Ambassadors. Then, after the game, the Little Squires were able to run the bases and have autographs signed on their very own set of trading cards featuring the varsity players from both teams. What a fun afternoon for our little friends!

The Delone Catholic Interact Club has had a busy spring season. In April, led by senior Lily Shriner, they painted sidewalk murals in McSherrystown to draw attention to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Then in May, during their annual Helping Hands for the Homeless project, the Interact Club raised $871.51 and packed 48 care bags for the Adams Rescue Mission.
These are just some of the creative ways Delone Catholic students continue to live out our motto, "Be Doers of the Word."
Fellowship and Fun at the Ladies' Tea
Thank you to all of our lovely alumni who returned to Delone Catholic on April 28 for the 2023 Ladies' Spring Tea. This event has been on hiatus since its cancellation in 2020 due to COVID-19, so it was wonderful to see the outpouring of excitement for this event's return. The event was emceed by Mr. Eric Lawrence '98 with remarks from Mr. William Lippe and Mrs. Julia Fuhrman. Alumni in attendance were graduates from the 1940s through the 1990s.
