When Carly (Hviding) Landolfi ’12 reminisces about her experiences at Delone Catholic, she says, “I think I can accurately describe my high school self as ‘busy,’ playing a sport every season and joining every club that fit into my schedule. I remember my senior yearbook entry using a microscopic font to capture my activities. Now, I joke that I can trace my career path back to elementary school at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary when I was first elected to student council. I stuck with student government through high school and college, learning early on about leadership, community service, and what it truly means to be a ‘Doer of the Word.’ I transitioned to working in ‘real’ government, and now I use these experiences and connections to represent clients as an attorney.”

She added that she and her two older sisters, who are also Delone Catholic graduates, Kirsten (Hviding) FoorHogue ’07 and Alex (Hviding) Stracke ’10, often recall their time at DCHS “more often than not laughing to the point of tears remembering funny moments we shared.”

“Playing sports, goofing off with friends in the lobby, and that wonderful feeling of being part of a tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone's name were among my greatest memories of Delone Catholic."

After Delone Catholic, Carly was an undergraduate at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016 with degrees in political science and philosophy. After Quinnipiac, she worked for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan before heading to law school.

Continuing on to George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School in Arlington, Va., Carly graduated in 2022. There she focused on academic writing, published three law review articles cited by courts and scholars, took constitutional law with Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and clerked for Senator Chuck Grassley on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Following law school, Carly served as a judicial law clerk to Maryland Supreme Court Justice Brynja Booth. After previously practicing municipal law, Carly is currently a civil litigation and land use attorney.

Carly met her husband Andy as an undergrad at Quinnipiac. “We welcomed our first child, Lucien Konrad ("Louie"), in Oct. 2025.” Presently, “We live in Annapolis, Md. While my family has always been based in Maryland, and I'm a lifelong Marylander, I like to tell people that a lot of my ‘growing up’ took place in McSherrystown, Pa., having attended diocesan schools from 1st through 12th grade.”  

Carly is a member of St. Andrew by the Bay Parish in Annapolis, Md. “Outside of work, I stay involved in several professional associations and serve as the Community Involvement Advisor for the Georgetown Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta.” Quipping about sounding old, Carly says, “Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of serving across federal, state, and local levels of government.”

“In recent years, (Andy and I) have visited Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Switzerland, and Italy - with the rest of the world still on our bucket list! We've slowed down traveling a bit to focus on family life with Louie, and we love spending as much time outdoors as possible in the Annapolis area, but we also find time for lots of trips to see family in Carroll County and New Jersey!”

Carly concludes, “I've thought about how I will explain to Louie what I do for work. As an attorney, I view my role in its simplest form as being a helper - whether that is helping guide clients to manage risk, resolve disputes, or obtain a permit - my job is centered on finding leverage to help people. These are skills I developed during my ‘busy’ days at Delone, and they are values I hope to foster in Louie as he grows. Staying connected to your community, remaining in tune with your values, and serving others are so important to lead a fulfilling life.  I am very lucky I learned those lessons as a teenager.”
