Track and Field Athletes Shine at District III 2A Championships

On Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, when 22 members of the Delone Catholic track and field teams competed at the District III 2A championships at Shippensburg University, 15 of those athletes won at least one medal!
Samantha Bealmear '26 won her third career district medal with fifth place in the 800m, recording a personal record of 2:26.
Emma Bunty '24 won her fifth career district medal with sixth place in the 100 hurdles with a 16.85.
Kaitlyn Schwarz '24 won her first district medal with sixth place in the javelin at 95-11. Laura Knobloch '24 took home her second career district medal with eighth place in javelin at 95-1.
Braden Smith '25 won his third career district medal with eighth place in the 200m with a 22.86.
The boys' 4x100 relay team, comprised of John Paul Groves '25, Max Holz '27, Nolan Kruse '25, and Braden Smith '25, won fourth place for the second year in a row.
The girls' 4x800 relay team, comprised of Samantha Bealmear '26, Kaylie Brown '26, Sophia Kennedy '25, and Ann King '27, won seventh place, medaling at districts for the second year in a row.
The boys' 4x800 relay team, comprised of Evan Donnelly '25, Jack Goedecker '24, Owen Igantowski '25, and Ryan Young '25, won eighth place. It was their first time qualifying since 2008 and the first time medaling since 2007.
