"Test Drive" Your Education: The Power of the Shadow Day Experience
Updated

Choosing a high school is a big decision, and honestly, it can be a little overwhelming. You’re looking at brochures, comparing stats, and trying to imagine your child’s future. But at the end of the day, you’re looking for one specific thing: the right fit.

At Delone Catholic, we believe that every child deserves a school where they don’t just "get by," but where they truly belong. We want to be the place where they can become the best version of themselves—not a version we’ve picked for them, but the person they were created to be.

How do you find that? You have to experience it. That’s why we invite every prospective student to spend a Shadow Day with us.

More Than a Tour | It’s a "Test Drive"

A Shadow Day moves past the "best behavior" of an Open House and lets your child experience the real, everyday energy of our hallways.

  • The Peer Connection | We pair your child with a current Squire who shares their interests. Whether they’re into theater, sports, or robotics, they’ll have a buddy who "gets" them and can answer the questions only another student can.
  • A Seat at the Table | We know the lunchroom can be the most intimidating part of a new school. On a Shadow Day, your child isn't searching for a spot; they have a guaranteed seat with their ambassador and a group of friends ready to welcome them. (And lunch is on us!)
  • Real Classroom Life |  They’ll see firsthand how our teachers don't just lecture, but mentor. They’ll experience the balance of high expectations and the genuine support that makes our community feel like a family.
  • The "Vibe Check" | They’ll experience the energy of the hallways, the way teachers joke with students between periods, and the quiet moments of prayer that ground our day.

Finding the Best Fit

The goal of a Shadow Day isn't to sell you on Delone Catholic. It’s to help your child discover where they feel most confident and inspired. When a student is in an environment where they feel safe and seen, they start to take those big, important risks—like raising their hand in a tough class or trying out for a new team.

That’s how they grow. That’s how the "best version" of themselves starts to show up.

The Car Ride Home

Our favorite part of the process isn't actually on campus. It’s the car ride home after the day is over.

Usually, that’s when the "I don't knows" turn into stories about a cool lab experiment or a senior who went out of their way to be kind. It’s the moment the nerves of the unknown are replaced by the excitement of a new beginning.

Don’t just take our word for it. Come see if we’re the right fit your child has been looking for.
