Delone Catholic Speech & Debate Compete in National Catholic Forensic League Tournament

The Delone Catholic High School Speech and Debate team competed at the National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) Tournament in Washington, D.C., on May 23-24. Led by coaches Derf Maitland P'13, P'14, P'17, P'18, and Bethany Staub '19, the team sent a strong group of students to compete across a wide variety of categories.

The following students represented the Squires at this national tournament:

  • Maria Marchak '27
  • Julia Miller '26
  • Ryleigh Stouter '27
  • Aiden Tringali '27

Carli Hutchinson and Maria Marchak have also qualified for the 2026 National Speech and Debate Tournament to be held in Richmond, Virginia in June.

It’s been a successful season for the team leading up to postseason competition.


The National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) was founded in 1951 to create speech & debate opportunities for all.
