Delone Catholic High School Announces Plans for Innovation Center
Updated

Speaking to the crowd during halftime at tonight’s home football game, Principal David Staub '94, P'25, P'28 shared an exciting vision for the future of Delone Catholic High School: the launch of a state-of-the-art Innovation Center, set to break ground in January 2027.

The new space, made possible by an anonymous seven-figure gift - the largest in the school’s history- will transform daily learning for both students and faculty. By updating and expanding the school’s woodshop, metal shop, CAD facilities, computer lab, media room, and creative spaces, Delone Catholic is broadening its hands-on coursework across three core areas:

  • Skilled Trades & Design  |  Giving students practical experience in drafting, metalworking, woodworking, and digital media.
  • Technology Education & Information Technology | Equipping students with modern computing and systems skills.
  • Business & Entrepreneurship | Teaching real-world leadership, business principles, and practical finance.

For faculty, the center offers flexible, modern environments to teach high-demand skills. For students, it re-anchors the school in a proud tradition—balancing strong academic excellence with real-world workforce development, so graduates enter the local community as skilled servant leaders.

"Delone Catholic has always believed in preparing students for every path, whether that means heading to a four-year university, entering a skilled trade, or starting a business," said Principal Staub. "This center will provide our teachers the resources they need and give our students a place to discover their talents, build practical skills, and prepare to serve others."

School leaders noted that the Innovation Center is just the beginning of a broader effort to improve the campus experience. Looking ahead, Delone Catholic aspires to make significant upgrades to its arts and theater facilities, and to enhance its athletic spaces to support the entire school community.

This investment builds on recent momentum advancing the school’s strategic plan, Timeless Excellence: Our Next Chapter, including the reinvigoration of its business and entrepreneurship programs, as well as ongoing preparations for a new human performance sciences curriculum set to launch in the 2027–28 school year.

Construction on the Innovation Center will begin in early 2027. Additional project details and milestone updates will be shared in the coming months.
