Delone Catholic High School Steps in to Manage McSherrystown Youth Sports Fields

A cornerstone of the McSherrystown community has been secured for the next generation. As a unique opportunity for change regarding the local athletic lands on Fairview Avenue presented itself, Rev. Richard Lyons, Pastor of Annunciation B.V.M. Parish, and David Staub '94, Principal of Delone Catholic High School, acted decisively to ensure the fields remain a vibrant hub for local children. Through a new partnership, Delone Catholic will assume the lease from Annunciation B.V.M. Parish, guaranteeing that these cherished spaces remain dedicated to youth sports and community enrichment.
A Vision for Growth and Community
Under the leadership of Staub, Delone Catholic High School has committed not only to maintaining the current state of the fields but to investing in significant improvements. The school’s stewardship ensures a seamless transition for the local youth sports programs that families have relied on for generations.
