Squire Spotlight | Joey Bunty '27 Selected for Keystone Boys State

Delone Catholic High School is proud to recognize Joseph Bunty '27, who has been chosen by Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403 to represent Delone Catholic at the 2026 Keystone Boys State (KBS).

From June 14–20 at Messiah University, Joseph will participate in a prestigious "hands-on" leadership program, joining a tradition of civic excellence that dates back to 1937.

Program Highlights

• Government in Action | Joseph will help operate the agencies of the mythical "51st State" of Keystone, gaining direct experience with Pennsylvania’s government.
• Elite Distinction | Attendance at Boys State carries weight similar to the Eagle Scout rank, particularly for those applying to U.S. military academies and top-tier universities.
• Scholarship Opportunities | As a participant, Joseph is now eligible to apply for the Samsung American Legion Scholarship, which is awarded to descendants of wartime veterans based on academic achievement and community service.

A Milestone Achievement

This selection recognizes Joseph’s leadership potential and commitment to his community. After the session concludes, he will visit Post 403 to share his experiences with the Legionnaires.
