Veterans Day Remembrance

Veterans Day Remembrance
Updated

At the blessing of the cornerstone on Nov. 5, 1939, Bishop George Leech proclaimed, "FOR OUR YOUTH we establish the Delone Catholic High School; may it teach them how to live; FOR AMERICA, may it help to keep her strong and great; FOR GOD, may it ever seek His glory.” Since then, four generations of Squires have expressed their patriotism through military service.

In honor of Veterans Day, Delone Catholic High School will pray in gratitude for all veterans during the entire month of November. Please submit any names of veterans you wish us to remember in prayer. (Note: if you have previously submitted names, you do not need to resubmit them. We are still praying!)

Father, bless our veterans and all who serve our nation defending our freedom. For those who bravely gave their lives, grant them eternal rest. For those who are serving, give them courage. For those who served, we offer our gratitude. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

From Nov. 8-15, the Venerable St. Bede Chapter of Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society will also participate in the 2024 Field of Flags project sponsored by DAV.org to honor local veterans and raise critical funds to support our ill and injured heroes. Each flag represents one veteran – and our unwavering commitment to serving all veterans after they’ve sacrificed so much for our country.
