As a Catholic school, we strive to empower our Squires to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, participating in the life of the Church, and entering more deeply into a personal relationship with God. Campus Ministry at Delone Catholic includes:

Retreats

At Delone Catholic, our retreats give our students the opportunity to encounter the Lord together with their peers. The retreats are planned to address the needs of the specific group, meeting them where they are as they progress through high school and grow in their individual relationships with God. These annual retreats are graduation requirements as an integral part of our Catholic identity.

Freshmen Retreat

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit. there are different forms of service but the same Lord. there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit.. 1 Corinthians 12: 4-7

On their first class retreat, the freshmen brave a challenge course, testing themselves individually and as a group. Working together, they learn about their individual gifts and talents and encourage one another. This lived experience provides a foundation for reflecting upon 1 Corinthians 12 - the culmination of a wonderful day of team-building, unity, .and realizing the unique and crucial role of each individual.

Sophomore Retreat

Delone Catholic welcomes NET ministries for the sophomore retreat! This team of passionate and faith-filled young adults travels the country leading retreats for high schools and youth groups in a variety of locations. Confronting popular opinions of our culture, students are presenting with the truth found in the Catholic faith. Students are encouraged to further their relationships with God and accept their own importance as members of the Body of Christ at this high-energy, joyful, and thought-provoking retreat!

Junior Retreat

Senior Retreat

God has a plan for each and every human life. Even if we are not aware of it, every person is called to something unique, planned exactly for him or her by God. As they plan for graduation, our seniors explore what God is calling them to, through talks and witnesses, beginning by looking at Mary’s example of surrender, the example the saints have provided for us, and how we can use prayer to help us discern. The class gathers to celebrate the Sacred Liturgy and enjoys individual time for reflection and discernment at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes and in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Kairos

Kairos is an unforgettable and unique retreat experience.

Spanning the length of a weekend, it gives students a break from the pace of everyday life to reflect on their relationships with God, their families, their friends, and themselves. It is primarily a student-led retreat, under the guidance of adult leaders.

The retreat center provides a picturesque location for a weekend of retreat and reflection. With plenty of outdoor space, you are able to encounter God through the beauty of His creation. Retreatants room in two- to four-person rooms in separate houses for males and females.

Works of Mercy

Delone Catholic's Works of Mercy (Service) program is an integral part of the overall curriculum. In accord with our motto, “Be Doers of The Word,” (James 1:22) and our obligation to educate students to be responsible world citizens and active participants in their faith, we require that all students perform volunteer service prior to graduation. The Works of Mercy remind us of our call to serve others as brothers and sisters in Christ (Matthew 25:31-46) and to meet their bodily and spiritual needs.

Graduation Requirement: 80 cumulative, validated Works of Mercy hours, with at least 20 hours in each category (service to church, service to Delone Catholic, and service to the community.

Students must complete at least 20 Works of Mercy hours for each school year until they reach the 80 hours required for graduation. The minimum cumulative total to reach each year is: 20for freshmen, 40 for sophomores, 60 for juniors, and 80 for seniors. The graduation requirement is complete as soon as the student reaches a cumulative total of 80 hours, with at least 20 hours in each of the three categories, and the hours have been submitted on MobileServe by the required due date.

All Works of Mercy hours must be completed by the last day of school for the year. Hours must be submitted no later than Sept.1 of the following school year. After Sept. 1, hours will no longer be accepted. For any senior, the Works of Mercy requirement must be completed by the end of the second quarter. Any senior Works of Mercy turned in on MobileServe after this date will only be recognized as half the hours submitted.

Works of Mercy hours must be submitted and validated through the student's account on MobileServe. An adult other than the student's parent must provide the verification. Please note that credit for Works of Mercy hours begins June 1 of the student’s eighth-grade year, as stated in the handbook.

If you have any questions with respect to the Works of Mercy Program, please do not hesitate to contact the Works of Mercy moderator of Delone Catholic High School.

All requests for volunteers are posted on Delone Catholic's website, but also consider these Works of Mercy suggestions:

Church: lector, altar server, choir member, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, helping with CYO sports, nursery aides, religious education teachers or aides, PAL, parish festivals, bingo, ushers, youth group activities that enhance the parish life, maintenance, etc. Please note that while attending liturgical services (such as Mass or Stations of the Cross) or Adoration of Blessed Sacrament are admirable and encouraged activities, they do not count for Works of Mercy hours.

Delone Catholic: tutor, open house tour guide, assembly set-up, school board committee, teacher helper, maintenance, manager, trainer, scorekeeper, concession stand, , etc.

Community: hospital volunteer, Christmas gift wrapping, blood donor, Habitat for Humanity, food drive projects, Red Cross helper, public library helper, nursing home volunteer, assisting elderly neighbors or family, scouting activities, camp counselor, political campaign activities, environment clean-up, helping at any parish or public grade school, etc.

Please note: Works of Mercy hours can be completed during school time provided the individual does not miss any academic time during the service.

Please submit prayer intentions you would like the Delone Catholic Prayer Team to remember. This group of faculty, staff, and students have committed to praying specifically for these intentions weekly.

Mass Intentions

Remember your special intentions, honor special dates, or pray for deceased loved ones by requesting a Mass to be said in Our Lady, Queen of Peace Chapel at Delone Catholic. Please contact Mrs. Phenicie with your intention and any specific date requests. Masses are said on Thursdays, so dates will be honored as best as possible.

Students, families, alumni, faculty and staff can utilize Delone Catholic's partnership with the FORMED^® online platform to access thousands of Catholic materials, from talks and videos to ebooks and devotionals. It is our hope that these resources bear fruit in the spiritual lives of our Squires at home. Teachers will also be utilizing this platform in their classes.
